Even though, most of the research on the endocannabinoid system focuses on the involvement of cannabinoids with the central nervous system and immune system. Over the past 20 years, a significant amount of research demonstrated that cannabinoids play an effective role in maintaining the several essential functions of the skin. The endocannabinoid system comprises a variety of endogenous ligands, a transporter apparatus, a complex enzyme, and their receptors. Each and every endocannabinoid system’s component is either involved in synthesizing, transporting, releasing, or degrading the various endocannabinoid molecules throughout the body.
